Tech Mentorship Program

What is the Tech Mentorship Program?
The Tech Mentorship Program at Pi515 is a six-month immersive experience in computer science and critical thinking, led by industry professionals from partners like John Deere and Principal Financial. Students build a strong foundation in Python through hands-on coding and classroom instruction, collaborate with peers, and explore a wide range of careers in technology. Upon completion, students may earn three college credits through DMACC.

The Pi515 Tech Mentorship Program connects students with experienced technology professionals to provide guidance, career insight, and skill development support. Through structured one-on-one and small-group mentorship, students gain exposure to real-world technology careers, industry expectations, and emerging pathways in tech. The program is designed to help students build confidence, explore opportunities, and make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
Programs are hosted at partner company locations, giving students the opportunity to learn directly within professional settings and better understand what a career in tech looks like beyond the classroom.
I furthered my Python and general knowledge with GitHub, the computer Terminal, Linux, and other general computer information. I improved teamwork skills; particularly in relation to programming and research. And, I learned a lot about John Deere and what many of its different programmers do and their diverse fields.
