Technology

Tech Mentorship Program

A six-month work-based learning program where students gain real-world and onsite experience in coding, IT, and computer science. Led and hosted by industry professionals from partners like John Deere and Principal Financial, students build technical expertise, make valuable mentorship connections, and may earn three free college credits through DMACC.

Pi515 AI Challenge

A four-month program where college students across Iowa harness big data and Multimodal AI to tackle pressing social and economic issues. Teams of 3-5 design innovative, scalable solutions in industries like agriculture, finance, and education, presenting their work at Pi515's Day of Innovation for the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Entrepreneurship

Girls Entrepreneurship Incubator

A six-week program that empowers young entrepreneurs to launch their own businesses. Students receive mentorship from Des Moines metro business professionals, develop hands-on entrepreneurial skills, and build confidence as they prepare to pitch their ideas at the Pi515 Day of Innovation. Participants earn three free college credits through the University of Iowa.

Career Exploration + Technology

Smart Cities

A three-week summer program where students explore how technology is transforming urban life. Through hands-on projects, participants learn how data, sensors, and IoT systems create more efficient and sustainable cities, gaining practical skills in urban technology and innovation.

Career Accelerator Program

A ten-week program where ninth- and tenth-grade students discover pathways to success across diverse career fields. Through conversations with industry professionals and hands-on activities, students build essential digital literacy and interpersonal skills—and earn two free college credits through DMACC.

Summer Internship

A hands-on summer program where high school students gain real-world, community-oriented experience in coding, innovation, and technology. Interns work on meaningful projects, develop critical thinking skills, and build a growth mindset that prepares them for future success in tech and beyond.

Smart Money

A three-week summer program hosted at industry locations across Des Moines that develops essential financial literacy skills. Students learn through real-world simulations and budgeting games to hone wealth-building and financial planning strategies for life.
