We serve the greater Des Moines metro community and welcome students of all identities and backgrounds. All programs are delivered free of cost and snacks and transportation are supplied. No prior experience is necessary for the after school programs.
We realize that the future of work is changing and young adults need to be prepared to meet its demands. Our programs empower and encourage students to foster a lifelong interest in STEM.
Our middle school programs provide students with varied and hands-on learning opportunities. Class curriculum includes robotics, web design, game design, virtual reality, and basic coding languages. No prior knowledge is necessary.
Our high school programs prepare students to be future leaders in a digital world. Class curriculum includes robotics, advanced web design, and coding languages. High school students may also participate in mentorship and pre-apprenticeship programs. Students have the opportunity to earn high school and college credit for their work. No prior knowledge is necessary.
Our work-based learning programs are for our advanced high school students. Participants complete internships and pre-apprenticeship with our community partner, Principal. Students learn on-the-job skills that can be listed on their resumes and college applications.
Our 6-week long summer programs keep students engaged and academically-minded in between school years. Topics vary from year to year but always include components of team work and hands-on learning.
The Girls Entrepreneurship Summit occurs every spring and empowers young women to take their business ideas and make them a reality. Students work in teams to develop and pitch their ideas.
