🌟 Intern Spotlight: Amber Lange 🌟

Meet Amber Lange, a dedicated Pi515 intern who’s combining her passion for math, mentorship, and making a difference. Amber is a student at Drake University, majoring in Mathematics and Data Analytics, and currently serves as a mentor for the Tech Mentorship Program at John Deere.

Amber’s motivation for joining Pi515 shines through her words:

“I was motivated to become an intern with Pi515 because I love providing students with an environment where they can grow. I also volunteer tutor middle school students in my free time because I find helping students grow in their academics to be extremely fulfilling.”

From the start, Amber has poured her heart into helping students thrive, not just academically, but personally. Her favorite part of interning?

“Meeting all of the students and learning about them and what brought them to the program. I think forming relationships with the students is so important in being a good mentor. Each student is so different so learning about each one of them is a fun introduction to the program.”

Through her work with Pi515, Amber has learned the value of whole hearted effort and connection:

“One thing I have learned from interning with Pi515 is how important giving your all is in everything you do. This internship has provided me the opportunity to put all of my effort into the Tech Mentorship program, and I feel that my efforts are really seen and appreciated at Pi515.”

When she’s not studying or mentoring, Amber loves to unwind with her creative side:

“Outside of work and school my favorite hobbies and interests are definitely crocheting and playing video games. I really enjoy crocheting stuffed animals and playing story games.”

If Amber had to describe her Pi515 experience in three words, she’d choose:

“Refreshing, empowering, and nurturing.”

And for students considering joining Pi515, her advice is full of heart:

“Absolutely do it. Whether it is interning or joining a program, joining Pi is a truly powerful resource. Being a part of Pi comes with experiences that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere, and the community is extremely warm and welcoming.”
